Dear Sir,

Sub: Complaint about the increasing air pollution in Chennai

I reside in the heart of this sprawling city. I would like to highlight the problems faced by people by the increasing amount of air pollution in the city. The level of impurities in the air has drastically increased in the past few years. This has been contributed by the industrialisation and the increased population in the city. The smoke being emitted from the factories and vehicles has been affecting the city's people in many ways.

The cutting of trees for construction of buildings and roads has affected the eco - system balance. So, the oxygen content in the air has come down and this in turn results in the spread of disease.

Hence, it is high time people take notice of this and start conservation. More public transport should be used. Growing of trees and usage of LPG and CNG must be advocated. Also, closure of factories that emit smoke beyond the allowed limit must be ordered. Rallies must be conducted to create awareness among he people on air pollution and its harmful effects. Therefore, I kindly request you to publish my letter in th distinguished columns of your newspaper so that people take notice of this problem and act accordingly.

Yours faithfully,
XYZ.
